In the final installment of their webinar series, Greg Smogard + Helene Robinson will demonstrate how to engage your slow brain!

Session 3 will provide attendees with an overview of:

Tips and tools to slow down your thinking to mitigate making assumptions or biases.

How to collect empathy data and understand the impact of using empathy data to reframe the core problem of a situation.

Digging deep into assumptions and biases, and their impacts on collaboration in the workplace.

This will be an interactive webinar. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the Critical & Creative Design Thinking Process to a familiar problem they may encounter in their workplace.

Assistant Vice President of Innovation and Business Development

Dr. Smogard is the Assistant Vice President of Innovation and Business Development. He leads the Sarasota-Manatee campus’ business engagement efforts with a focus on creating and enhancing mutually beneficial opportunities between business and our faculty and students. Additionally, he teaches a course on Student Consulting and works with the Critical and Creative Design Thinking Program to design and deliver external training courses to individuals, businesses, and organizations.

He has worked with Fortune 500 companies and global brands in more than 40 countries and held management positions at American Express’ Latin American Division, and Blockbuster/Viacom. Dr.

Smogard is author of the book, “A World of Opportunities for Aspiring Entrepreneurs: Creating Your Own Job in the New Normal.”

Director of the Critical & Creative Design Thinking Program, Arts Integration Coordinator, Associate Professor of Instruction

Dr. Robinson is the director of the CCDT program, the Arts Integration coordinator, an associate professor of instruction in the College of Education, and affiliate faculty in the department of Women and Gender Studies at the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee campus.

Her research, teaching, and writing focus on arts integration methods to create inclusive learning environments, applied behavioral analysis to create multi-tiered systems of support, special education pedagogy, social/emotional skill development, developing empathy and cultural reciprocity for effective and innovative designs, and curriculum and pedagogical development applying critical and creative design to develop positive self-beliefs, resiliency, self-regulation, critical thinking, a growth mindset, and effective collaborations in multi-cultural contexts.
