Our RUXSTARS researchers will be sharing their insights on the current job market and hiring climate from a uniquely queer lens. Come and ask questions on the latest findings from two eight-month research projects made especially for our community!

Chelsey Tennis (they/them) – UX Researcher, UX/UI Designer
Chelsey is a UX/UI Designer with a background in anthropology and education. Chelsey has seven years of creating impactful experiences and digital designs for users across nonprofit and educational sectors. In their free time, Chelsey loves listening to great music, learning dance choreography, and dabbling in different crafts and hobbies.

Maggie Tagoe (she/her) – UX Researcher @ OIT/Mentor Me Collective
Maggie is a UX Researcher and Research Operations Specialist who lives in Georgia. She is a versatile woman who has seen product development from different perspectives as a former test engineer and current UX researcher. She is currently on the lookout for her next research operations (or adjacent) role at a mid-size or enterprise company in the consumer goods industry. When she is not conducting interviews and analyzing qual and quant data, she is reading the latest book, watching a Nollywood film, practicing her pizza making skills, or trying to figure out who murdered Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sabrina Del Moral (she/her) – UX Researcher @ AnswerLab
Sabrina Del Moral is a UX Researcher, with over 8 years of experience in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches. Throughout this time, she has led in-depth interviews, focus groups, in-field research, competitor analysis, heuristic evaluations, and performed advance statistical analysis. She has conducted research in multiple industries, including emerging technology, e-commerce, social media, financial services, and entertainment. She is passionate about using empathy to drive compassionate action through her research.
In her free time, you’ll catch Sabrina spending time with her loved ones, reading, making stained glass pieces, and playing with her adorable puppy, Salem.

Sara Richards (she/her) – Lead Researcher / OnEarth Research and Consulting
Sara Richards is the owner and lead researcher at OnEarth Research and Consulting. She has more than 9 years of experience with qual-and-quant research methods in the technology, automotive, education, and outdoor industries. A former product manager turned researcher, she intimately understands the human-centered design process from pre-ideation to product launch. Sara is deeply passionate about teaching and currently lectures on User Research for the University of Washington’s Master of Human-Computer Interaction and Design program. When she’s not working Sara is an avid outdoorsperson and can usually be found fly fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, or volunteering with various wildlife conservation efforts across the Pacific Northwest.

Christopher Matthews (he/him) – UX Researcher/Designer and ASL Interpreter
Christopher is a UX Researcher/Designer living in Brooklyn, New York. OIT volunteer since the beginning of 2021 and is a part of leadership for the UIUX committee and RUXSTARS! He is extremely passionate about designing products and services centering the user, while equally advocating for communication accessibility. For the last decade he has worked as a Nationally Certified American Sign Language Interpreter. Recently, he made a career pivot into UX and is currently looking for a role as a UX Researcher/Designer in a media/entertainment or education setting. Apart from UX Design & Interpreting, he enjoys Drag performances, music, theater, and seeing people smile.

Alex Solis (he/him) – Software Engineer – FE | UX | Products, Founding Engineer @ Roadforge
Spunky tenacious software engineer specializing in Front End Development, User Experience Design, and products. Currently working as a Founding Engineer focusing on React and UX at Roadforge, volunteering as a performing fundraiser for Cheer San Francisco, and is the Out in Tech Community Head for UIUX for where he organizes tons of innovative events and experiences for the LGBTQ+ and Tech communities. He likes Pokémon, anime, gaming, baking, and dancing!
