    IMMEDIATE NEW JOB OPENING for a Sr. Lead Platform Engineer to join our team and work in a hybrid environment at our client’s global HQs in Addison, Texas.  As a Sr. Lead Platform Engineer, on the Platform Engineering – Digital API team, you will be responsible for the technical and architectural mentorship for the GraphQL API layer and initiatives that impact this API layer along with participating in day-to-day activities for maintenance and support of APIs. Demonstrating technical and analytical skills, this role will facilitate collaborative planning, prioritization, oversight, and support of the digital experience API platform in collaboration with Software Engineering, Leadership, and cross-product/multi-functional business partners.

    This highly collaborative position drives the delivery of platform capabilities across both web/mobile streams and stresses versatility as API platform interests are broad (front-line product awareness, enterprise infrastructure familiarity, data, API proficiency, etc.).  This role may lead a wide variety of projects/tasks allowing agile/iterative platform development: roadmaps, context/sequence diagrams, epics, stories, collaboration space documentation, key presentations, etc.
    Responsibilities:

    • API Platform Strategy – Allow cross-stream digital experiences across web and mobile apps by defining API and platform capabilities that use evolving service/API-driven infrastructure and third-party services/integration
    • API Platform Delivery Roadmaps – Drive API platform capability planning within platform delivery roadmaps with input from appropriate business partners to facilitate best-in-class guest experiences, alignment with enterprise-level technology transformation, and digital growth, engagement, and revenue.
    • API Platform Performance – Continually assess platform performance to find opportunities and platform-specific enhancements that will increase client application/platform performance and stability, or provide best-in-class advantages
    • Collaboration – Collaborate with key partners of various levels across the organization, including Product, Software Engineering, Core Architecture, and Security to balance competing interests and needs
    • API Platform SME – Sustain awareness of existing and upcoming API platform capabilities and communicate opportunities for platform enhancements to technology and product partners to support strategic planning as technologies evolve

     

    Required Skills:

    • 12 years in technology with 10 years of software/platform design and implementation experience
    • level GraphQL experience
    • Understand, document, and describe complex technical subjects
    • Strong presence and the ability to effectively communicate detailed technical concepts in understandable terms
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of API platforms and integration with web/mobile applications
    • High Technical competency in Node.js, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Javascript, Atlassian Stack, Gitlab, and AWS technologies
    • Large e-commerce and digital delivery experience
    • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodology
    • Ability to understand query performance reports and optimization.
    • Success balancing feature, performance, technical debt, and infrastructure transformation/improvement delivery efforts against resource constraints
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, collaboration, verbal and technical communication, influence, and problem-solving skills
    • Additional Requirements (i.e. % of travel time, etc.): 25% Travel when company travel is needed
