Join us in this encore presentation to explore the fascinating stories and unique elements of quilts and celebrate the finale of this outstanding exhibition. Presentation Descriptions: Signed with Love – Signature Quilts in the Collection of the Pasadena Museum of History and Beyond This illustrated Zoom presentation will explore some of the special details in the signature quilts on view in the Community Stitches exhibition. Join co-curator Leah Zieber to discover the fascinating history of signature quilts and their significance in the lives of the families who owned them. Crazy for Crazy Quilts – Distinctive Elements from Pasadena Museum of History’s Crazy Quilt Collection This illustrated Zoom presentation explores the history behind the popularity of Crazy Quilts in American quilt making from the 1870s through the 1930s. Community Stitches co-curator Leah Zieber will showcase some of the unique and striking elements that can be found in the Museum’s Crazy Quilts, including painted and stitched imagery and historical mementoes found within the folds of these quilts. Printed Cotton and 19th Century American Textile Manufacturing This illustrated Zoom presentation with Community Stitches co-curator Leah Zieber will explore the history of 19th century American textile mills and the manufacturing of printed cotton. Discover how the Industrial Revolution promoted the American quilting phenomenon while also moving young women out of the home and into the work force.
