So, you have some qualitative data — maybe it’s social media content, interview transcripts, visual data, or pages of fieldnotes? Now you are trying to figure out how to make meaning from it. Join in this workshop to find a path through the qualitative maze.
You will learn strategies and acquire tools for:
a. Organizing and preparing qualitative data for analysis.
b. Choosing a qualitative data analysis technology.
c. Primary level coding techniques such as open coding and in vivo coding.
d. Knowing where to go for next steps in the analysis process.
You will practice specific coding techniques and leave with analytic tools that will jumpstart and structure your own qualitative data analysis. The workshop is based upon Sarah Tracy’s phronetic iterative qualitative data analysis (PIQDA) approach of qualitative data analysis as explicated here.
*** Please note: Consider taking this workshop in tandem with Intermediate Coding Methods, offered soon after this workshop. ***
