Job Summary:Primary responsibilities are focused on maturing solution architecture standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and roadmaps, facilitating solution architecture and platform consistency across product lines, and participating in leading architectural change for a successful, growth-oriented technology leader in the energy industry.Job Responsibilities:Implement, facilitate, communicate, and influence the use of solution architecture strategy, standards, and best practicesDefine and manage solution architectures and design standardsCreate and execute solution architecture roadmaps that align with architecture strategy and standards and product line strategiesCollaborate with technical teams, solution architects, and enterprise architecture to ensure consistent architectures across the organizationModularize and modernize solution architectures of existing monolithic systems with minimal impact to end-usersDiscover and quantify technical debt in current solutions and create plans to reduce or eliminate technical debt that align with product line and digital strategiesIdentify risks and trade-offs with solution architecture options and decisionsBuild and nature relationships with functional and IT leaders, documenting pain points, aligning with functional roadmaps, and building shared technology plans for the futureConduct architectural evaluations of existing solutions and identify opportunities to achieve similar capabilities with greater efficiencies or less costSkills:Experience with architecture and development of secure web applications with the .NET framework, Java, and/or a JavaScript framework, or other modern technical stacksExperience with architecture and development of secure APIs using modern API technologies such as REST, GraphQL, and/or gRPCExperience defining and managing solution architecture strategies working in alignment with solution architects, enterprise architecture along with functional and technical product line teamsExperience creating, documenting, and governing solution architectures and standardsStrong knowledge of architecture patterns and software design patterns and principlesStrong object-oriented design skillsStrong communication skillsStrong collaboration skills across multiple teams with differing needs and prioritiesExperience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization with an understanding of various facilitation techniquesDesired Knowledge:Experience with architecture and development of distributed applications deployed to field sites with potential for network connectivity disruptionExperience coaching, mentoring, or leading software developersExperience with cloud architecture and cloud technologies, preferably with Amazon Web Services (AWS)Certification as a cloud solutions architect is considered a plusExperience with architecture of PaaS solutionsExperience with API management products, API design, and/or swaggerExperience with DevOps and/or DevSecOps practicesExperience with the agile methodologyAdditional requirements: Regular attendance; the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co- workers, supervisors, internal and external customers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows(R) operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company’s intranet; availability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis; and the ability to work at the assigned job site.
