As an API Management Infrastructure Engineer with the API First Program at SAS, you will collaborate within the team and across all of SAS in the following areas:

• Architecting and implementing integration platform-as-a-service capabilities in Azure to support management of APIs across the entire company

• Collaborating with cross-division teams in the identification of requirements for API management infrastructure through consideration of business and market requirements, system quality attributes, and overall technical direction.

• Researching and advising on new and emerging software technologies and partnering with appropriate teams to drive assessment and adoption to continuously improve management of APIs

• Providing education and enablement tools to help product teams understand and interpret standards, guidelines, and best practices and apply these concepts within their own technical domains.

• Advancing technical strategy for APIs in тАЬas-a-serviceтАЭ and low code/no code landscapes

• Experience with:

• • REST API standards, design patterns, and industry best practices.

• Docker, Kubernetes

• Microservices and cloud native architecture o API Management Solutions (Azure API Management preferred) and APIs as a Product o Azure Integration Services.

• Developing and/or consuming HTTP APIs, especially REST.

• Linux operating system, commands, and shell programming tools.

• Scripting languages and automation techniques for testing and deployment.

• Writing or leveraging OpenAPI 3.x.

• Understanding of the API lifecycle and awareness of common existing tooling across that ecosystem

• Understanding of DevOps principles and commonly used tooling in DevOps pipelines.

The nice to haves

• MasterтАЩs degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.

• Familiarity with usage and programming for cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

• Understanding of RESTful API principles.

• Experience with:

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript

• GraphQL

• gRPC

• API security concepts, testing and docuementation best practices

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Professional software development experience.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
